About Us – The Fun-Making Machine

Here at ProWake, fun is what we do. That is our thing. Every part of our team gives their very best to ensure that you, your mates, your family and every man and his dog can have the best time possible on the water.

So, what do we mean by all that? Well basically, we grew up in watersports. We know watersports. We live watersports. We love watersports. And we know that we ourselves enjoy nothing more than having a ripping time out on the water. That feeling of living and having fun is something we chase relentlessly and is something we want to help everyone on the water achieve.

Now, that might sound like a lot of cuddley nonsense, but, rest assured, we mean it. Just look at our pro events, clinics, reunions, ride days, tours and after-sales service. All committed to making you have an absolutely awesome time. Like we said, fun is what we do.

Our team is spearheaded by two of the industry's leading figures: the Watkins brothers. Together, these two curly haired (and now shorter-with-a-few-more-greys haired) lads have been influential in bringing the wakeboard industry in Australia to the point that it is today.

Daniel Watkins brings the professional wakeboard experience to the table. He has achieved many career highlights, including 2x World Series Champ, World Cup Champ, 3x APTW Champ, APTW Co-founder and WWA Legend, and is acknowledged as being one of the first Australian riders to bring the hype and energy of wakeboarding in USA back to Australia.

His brother, Mick, is known right throughout the wakeboarding land thanks to his time as editor at both Wake Magazine and Boarder Magazine, as co-founder of the Australian Pro Tour of Wakeboarding, and as the voice of countless contests and events.

Chances are, if you have been at a wakeboarding event in Australia you would have seen Daniel riding and would have heard Mick on the mic.

Behind the scenes the ProWake founding brothers created the first major wakeboard event in Australia, with the before mentioned Aussie Pro Tour of Wakeboarding being the birth child of the boys' vision and passion for the sport. Since then they have hosted ground breaking rail jams, clinics, reunions and other major events all in the name of fun.

In 2004, the Watkins brothers took another huge step towards delivering fun. They opened their retail store on Brisbane Rd, on the Gold Coast in Queensland. Seven years on and the store is now the go-to for everyone in the south Queensland and northern NSW district - still supplying gear to make the fun times to happy customers right across the Gold Coast and Australia.

This infectious fun making rubs off on the rest of us here at ProWake. We love to make fun times happen. Together we have kept the Tigé Tour (a national clinic tour) on the road for over six years, growing in size every year. In the 2011 season we brought the ProWake Show to Grafton, NSW. The Show was a never before seen five hour on-water event that integrated the now stale professional competition with a choreographed watersports show featuring stunt jetskis, hydrofoils, barefooting, ski jumping and sky diving.

Did we mention we like to have fun?

We have partnered with four wakeboard and ski schools nationally to deliver our fun across the nation. Our Tigé Tour covers five states and territories. In 2011 we held two Tigé Owners Reunions and of course threw the biggest party of the year with the ProWake Show.

In 2009 we launched this little place you are on right now. No, not the internet itself. But, this website, ProWake.com.au. This place serves as our hub. Our portal for everything we do. And as an added convenience to you it is your key to our retail store, 24/7, from anywhere in the world. Whether you are hunting a new wakeboard or a vest. A DVD or a rope. Odds on, we have it. If we don't, it's odds on we can get it.

In 2010 ProWake officially took over as the single national distributor of Tigé Boats in Australia. Not only are we one of the biggest physical and online retail stores in the country, we also deliver what we believe are the best boats in the industry to customers across Australia. We invest time in our customers to ensure that they aren't just another notch on the belt, but that they become truly part of the Tigé family.

And that personal attention and true passion for making sure you get the most out of your time on and off the water is what drives us. If we can go the extra mile to make sure you have fun, then consider it done.

2012 is just around the corner. The white board in the office is full of big plans for a big summer. Actually, you might have to widen your definition of "summer" so we can fit it all in, but I'm sure that if you're anything like us, you already have.
