The 2013 Grommie Nats was held in some dismal weather, but that didn't stop the kids from turning up each day and all day long with big smiles on their faces.

The Grommie Nats is on this July school holidays. Over three days you could have a chance to be photographed by professional photographers, be coached and ride with the countries best wakeboarders, meet heaps of cool new friends and test your knowledge and skills in wakeboarding to win heaps of cool stuff.

It is an event like no other and each day will be completely new.

Day 1 – Sunday 30th – You will get to free-ride behind the best boats with the countries best Pro riders. ProWake professional photographers will be on hand to shoot some pics of you, we’ll post them online and you can download them and show ya mates!

Day 2 – Monday 1st – There will be heaps of prizes given away for unique off water activities that revolve around wakeboarding lifestyle. So make sure you are up to date with your ‘hands on’ knowledge of all things wakeboarding so you can win the swag of prizes. Of course free-riding will be mixed in to prepare you for the on-water competition.

Monday Night – The Trivia Pursuit of Wakeboarding will test your knowledge of wakeboarding tricks, rules and history. This will be a team’s event with approx 4 in each and you must have one adult in each team.

Day 3 – Tuesday 2nd – This is the competition day run under the Australian Wakeboarding Association Rules. There will be four divisions - boys up to 10, girls up to 10, boys 10 to 16 and girls 10 to 16.

Competition winners will be awarded for performances across all three days of the event. Each day’s scoring will be equivalent to the next so to win the big prize, you must do well on all three days.

Why are Grommie Nats being held?

There are Grommie Camps, there are state competitions and there are Pro Comps. The Grommie Nats is designed to bridge the gap between them all for kids up to the age of 17. While it is a competition, the theme of the event is borrowed from the Summer Nationals Car Festival, where there is a multitude of fun contests and several participants can be winners not just those on the water. Off water activities serve as an education while encouraging companionship.

To the Parents

We require assistance to run the event especially on day 2 to run the off water activities. So if you can work a stopwatch or can blow a whistle, we need you! Please contact goldcoast@prowake.com.au.
