WHAT YOU’LL FEEL:
One of the most difficult parts about learning to efficiently turn a ski is understanding how to roll the ski’s edge into higher angle. The higher the edge angle, the easier and quicker the ski will turn. With Butterknife, the sidecut and surface area were formed for stability and an easier roll into a higher edge. BENT VEE DESIGN:
The Bent Vee series of slalom skis was created to take you anywhere, any time, at any ability level. It’s the easiest, smoothest ski we’ve created with the least amount of drag you could ever imagine.
Now don’t get us wrong. We take pride in the hi-performance level of every ski in our line, regardless of intended purpose! The fundamental aspects such as bevel and rocker line are that of a Vapor. So you ski assured, knowing you’re riding a high performance rip stick.


• SIDECUT:
Surface area was added behind your feet for lift on deep-water starts and stability when riding straight ahead. The widest point in the tip is much further forward than a conventional slalom ski, giving the feeling of a longer wheelbase. Imagine a ’73 convertible Fleetwood rolling down the highway. It doesn’t get any more stable. When the ski is turned on edge, it creates an automatic turn based on the inside radius sidecut. The ski just pivots right through both on and off side turns without effort.

• ROCKER(S):
Every ski design actually has 2 rocker lines. The first one is down the centre of the concave, which, in Bent Vee, is identical to the Vapor. The second rocker line is on the bevels (the part that touches a table), and we’ve made it flat and stable for consistent water flow in any conditions. By altering the sidewall thickness we can create a second “bevel rocker” suitable for the intended purpose which levels the attitude of the ski in the water. In this case, we made a free skier’s perfect rocker.

• BASE DESIGN:
The Bent Vee design also innovates with a FLAT SPOT across the middle of the concave. By putting a straight line across the deepest part of the concave, it shallows the depth of the base design, creating lift from the loss of depth and the flat line itself. That lift relieves line tension, making it easier for a skier to get up, hang on and get acceleration while cutting. To make sure the ski has plenty of grip and edging stability, GRIP RAILS were added to the base to hold the ski in an efficient edging position.

o FLAT SPOT - Concave in the bottom of a ski creates suction. It enables the ski to stay in the water while on edge. To reduce excess drag based on a slower boat speed, the centre of the concave on Bent Vee is flattened in the deepest part of the base design to create lift. This flat spot makes the ski ride easier and reduces line tension. You’ll stay on top of the water easier with less fatigue.

o GRIP RAILS - Add stability by grabbing water and holding the ski in an efficient edging position.

• HYBRID ALL TERRAIN CORE:
Our most advanced core to date came with the thought of creating a smoother ride for skiers in open water. Rough water chop can nearly take out your fillings. But aren’t we designing skis to react quickly? The two are not complementing each other. But if we put a dampening system in the core of the ski, we can reduce the vibration through the ski as is cuts through boat wakes. Paulownia wood is pliable and shock absorbing. It is the perfect material to smooth out your ride.
